The Homeowner's Prayer

I love our home, it's our first "real" house and has made us legitimate in some way that we weren't as carefree, single renters (you know, the type who could call the landlord for all those inconvenient or unpleasant little repairs).

Little did I know that owning a home would transform me into the miserly spendthrift I am today. I like to spend money on our home...it's just that I've come to realize that I don't like to spend anything over $150 on our home. So you can imagine my anxiety as major renovations are tallying up before my eyes, forcing me to pry open my coin purse much more than I can possibly stand. I feel like a virgin being sacrificed to the dogs of war.

Pray for me, as the contractors come-a-calling. Pray they are all competent, noble, and honest. Pray they do not ream me to the heavens.
